Secretary General- Chris Szablewski
Chris is a senior in Columbia College studying Political Science and has begun working towards his Masters of Public Administration at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs. He has been active in Model UN since he was a freshman in high school and has remained active throughout his time at Columbia. Originally from Piscataway, NJ, Chris loves living in New York and experiencing everything the city has to offer. Throughout his time at Columbia, he has been active in the Columbia International Relations Council and Association (CIRCA) as a staff member of CMUNNY, Columbia’s college-level MUN conference, the Columbia Model UN Travel Team, as well as CMUNCE. He is very excited to serve as Secretary General for CMUNCE XII and looks forward to an exciting weekend of debate, intrigue, and explosions.

Director General- Grace Rosen
Grace is a junior in Columbia College studying English and Film. Despite her non-Poli Sci major, she spends most of her time with CIRCA and credits Model UN for getting her through high school with some semblance of inter-personal skills. She hails from Princeton, New Jersey and does not take kindly to jokes about her home state. This will be Grace’s fifth CMUNCE after two as a delegate, one as a chair, and two as a secretariat member. As USG PR last year, she had a blast interacting with the advisors and getting a unique perspective on how a conference runs. This year, as Director General, her goals are to keep the daises as organized and excited for a dynamic, fast-paced committee experience.

Chief of Staff- Samantha Plotner
Samantha is a senior at Barnard College studying Political Science and Human Rights Studies. This probably has something to do with growing up in Virginia’s DC suburbs where politics are more interesting than any of the sports teams. When CIRCA isn’t taking over her life, she writes for The Nine Ways of Knowing, explores the city and figures out life after college. She is very excited to be reprising her role as Under Secretary General of Committees and is looking forward to giving all the delegates a fantastic committee experience.

Undersecretary General for Committees- Camila Marcone
Camila Marcone, CC’15, is a sophomore is excited to serve as Director of Conference Operations for the 2013 CMUNCE conference. Though technically undeclared, Camila is thinking of majoring in Environmental Biology and French, potentially squeezing a Dance minor. Camila has been involved with Model UN since freshman year of high school and continues to compete in college level conferences with CIRCA’s travel team. When not debating or goofing off with the rest of the secretariat Camila can be found practicing dance and has performed on campus under the wing of student run-dance group Orchesis. Camila can’t wait until CMUNCE 2013 and is looking forward to planning and carrying out all of the essential details which will make this conference the best CMUNCE ever.

Undersecretary General for Committees- Jiawen Tang
Jiawen Tang is a sophomore at Columbia College majoring in Economics-Political Science and concentrating in Sustainable Development. Born and raised in China before moving to Rhode Island, she developed a fascination for international relations at a young age and has been involved in Model UN since freshmen year of high school. When she is not making fancy google docs and sending emails for CMUNCE, she can be found amidst Columbia’s Asian American Alliance or Columbia Ecoreps. Having mastered the art of procrastination, Jiawen enjoys spending her free time eating froyo, dancing to catchy pop tunes, and exploring New York City. Jiawen is excited to work to organize the best CMUNCE yet and looks forward to meeting all of you in January!
.

Undersecretary General for Committees- Tyler Zimmet
Tyler is a sophomore in Columbia College from Los Angeles, California, interested in studying economics and history. He has participated in Model UN since he was a freshman in high school, and recently chaired the Post-Revolutionary Egyptian Cabinet Committee at CMUNCE 2012. Outside of Model UN, Tyler is a member of the Undergraduate Recruitment Committee, which is primarily responsible for giving admission tours to prospective students. In addition, Tyler is a member of a Jazz Ensemble, where he plays the saxophone. He is a die-hard baseball fan, and is happy the Dodgers finally have a new owner.
.

Undersecretary for Public Relations- Amelia Marosek
Amelia is a sophomore at Barnard College majoring in “unafraid” until officially declaring in the spring. Hailing from suburbs of Washington, D.C., Amelia now loves being able to call two great cities home. She joined Model UN as a sophomore in high school and has been obsessed ever since and is thrilled to be USG Public Relations in her first leadership role in CIRCA. In her spare time, Amelia likes exploring New York, playing tennis, eating bagels and lox, watching Columbia football, and playing dress up with her roommate.

A proud native of Frederick, Maryland (one of Forbes’ Greatest Neighborhoods 2010, as it should be), Malini got her MUN start in her sophomore year of high school and has been active ever since. While not obsessing over CIRCA, Malini loves dancing on Columbia Raas, being the Publisher for the Columbia Political Review, watching (so much) television, and exploring New York City!

Undersecretary-General for Publications- Aigerim Saudabayeva
Aigerim is a sophomore at Barnard College hoping to major in Economics and maybe minoring in French. Aigerim is a resident of the DC-Metro Area but is originally from Kazakhstan. She is really excited about being the USG-Publications this year. While not dedicating her time to CMUNCE, Aigerim works for the Columbia Daily Spectator and for the Journal of Global Health. In her spare time, Aigerim can be found playing squash, exploring New York City, cheering for Real Madrid or Arsenal, or drinking tea in Rockefeller Plaza.

Undersecretary-General for Finance- Tim Chen
Tim is a rising junior in Columbia College majoring in Political Science-Economics and minoring in Philosophy. He has been involved with Model UN since his freshman year in high school, and up till today he still regrets not participating in CMUNCE as a high school student (he blames his advisors for it). Prior to joining the CMUNCE XII Secretariat, Tim led the CIRCA academics team which hosts world-class speakers such as George Stephanopoulos on Columbia’s campus. Outside of CIRCA, Tim is a Residential Adviser, a member of Columbia’s Global Recruitment Committee, and a brother at Beta Theta Pi. Tim is excited to facilitate the money spending—and earning–process of CMUNCE XII!
