Committee: FIFA World Cup 2010 Organising Committee

In the summer of 2006, more than 700 million people worldwide watched France and Italy clash in the final of the FIFA World Cup in Germany. The massive soccer competition is by far the most popular sporting event in the world, an enormous undertaking that requires years of planning and preparation on the part of the host nation and the FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) governing body. From June 11 to July 11, 2010, South Africa will play host to the first World Cup held in an African country. In this committee, delegates will take on the role of the FIFA Organising Committee as it strives to ensure the preparation of facilities, the safety of the players, and the entertainment of fans around the world, while dealing with issues from fan hooliganism on the field to commercial headaches away from it. The biggest tournament on the planet is taking shape, and you’re in control of how it looks.
