The Essay Contest of the CMUNCE XXIII Secretary-General and Director-General
Participate in the first annual CMUNCE Essay contest!
The Secretary-General and Director-General are excited to launch an essay contest for delegates. We hope that this optional way to engage with CMUNCE encourages thoughtful reflection and discussion about your experiences and aspirations in this activity. Submissions will be reviewed by the Secretary-General and Director-General. Delegates may only submit one essay and any submissions that do not adhere to the formatting requirements and deadlines will be disqualified. Registered attendees of CMUNCE XXIII are eligible to enter and participants agree to allow CMUNCE to use their submissions for promotional purposes. Joint submissions are not accepted. Any questions regarding the Essay Contest should be directed to our USGs of Public Relations at public.relations@cmunce.org.
Essays should include a captivating title and be 750-1250 words in length, single-spaced in 12-point Times New Roman font and should answer one or both of the following prompts:
How does your identity or background shape you as a delegate in Model UN? How does your unique perspective influence your ability to engage and grow as a communicator?
How can high school Model UN conferences and delegates strive to be more inclusive and equitable? What can we do in order to advance these goals?
The writing style can be narrative or academic. A works cited page should be included if outside sources are used and does not contribute to the total word count. Essays should be submitted as a PDF in the form below by Wednesday, January 10th at 11:59pm ET and winners will be announced during CMUNCE XXIII Closing Ceremonies.
