January 17 - 20, 2019

As one of the country's premier high school Model United Nations conferences, CMUNCE brings together delegates from around the world to participate in a uniquely challenging, stimulating, and enriching debate experience.

Letter from the Secretary-General:

Dear esteemed delegates and advisors,

It is my great honor and pleasure to invite you to the eighteenth session of the Columbia Model United Nations Conference and Exposition (CMUNCE). This year’s conference will take place from January 17 to 20, 2019 on Columbia University’s Morningside Heights Campus. CMUNCE has distinguished itself as one the premier Model UN conferences on the high school circuit with its small and engaging crisis committees that span across a wide variety of topics, time periods, regions, and universes. We are excited to welcome you to CMUNCE XVIII and our secretariat and staff will work diligently to provide a rich and engaging experience to all delegates.

The CMUNCE experience extends far beyond its crisis committees. Thanks to our New York location, CMUNCE provides students with an unparalleled opportunity to engage with real world diplomats through its diplomatic visit program, and invited committee speakers. We are also incredibly excited to continue our partnership with the Marriott Marquis Times Square, where we host our Friday midnight crisis session. I hope that this variety of opportunities will make your CMUNCE experience a memorable one, and allow you to experience all that Columbia and New York City have to offer.

As I enter my fourth and final year on secretariat, I am humbled by the tremendous amount of growth and interest the conference has generated over the past several years and I am grateful to all the past CMUNCE secretariats, staffers, delegates, and advisors that have made CMUNCE one of the highlights of my time at Columbia. I am honored to serve as Secretary-General during my final year at Columbia and will work with the Secretariat to make CMUNCE XVIII an enjoyable and memorable experience for all.

On behalf of the Columbia International Relations Council and Association and the CMUNCE XVIII Secretariat, I look forward to welcoming you to CMUNCE XVIII from January 17-20, 2019 for a fun weekend of debate and crisis simulations. Conference registration will take place in September and, in the meantime, you may look through this website to learn more about what the CMUNCE experience entails. Thank you for your interest, and if you have any questions you may contact the Secretariat at info@cmunce.org.

Sincerely,

Josue Lecodet

Secretary-General
