Supreme Good: The Reign of Catherine the Great

CRISIS COMMITTEE

“Power without a nation's confidence is nothing.” Thus quoth Catherine the Great of Russia, one of the most consequential rulers in world history. Catherine the Great’s rule was one marked by conflicts big and small, at home and abroad. This committee thrusts delegates into the political workings of the Reign of Catherine the Great, her court, and her constituents. Delegates must help lead one of the largest empires in the world at a period of vast international changes.

Balancing issues foreign and domestic, delegates will step into a gilded world of Enlightenment ideals and imperial ambition, a world defined by expansion and rebellion. Will Catherine’s empire emerge as a paragon of Enlightenment-era progress, or will her court collapse under the weight of its own hubris? In the center of Eurasia, delegates now have a chance to shape the Russian Empire, and by proxy, the world as a whole.
